CapitalOne credit card will not provision in Wallet for iMac/Mac Sequoia

I upgraded from an Intel iMac to the new M4 iMac and was trying to add a CapitalOne credit card to my Wallet for Apple Pay. I was previously able to use the card on the old iMac for many years.

The card will add to the Wallet, which is verified by the e-mail from Capital One and from their digital tech support, but it will not verify with an error message that there is no verification method available contact the card issuer.

CapitalOne digital tech support stated that they support iPhone and iWatch but that they no longer support other products, but it may on occasion provision (verify) correctly.

I could not remove the card from my Wallet until I had CapitalOne delete the card from my iMac on their side.

Capital One has gone to a sort of double verification process. Mobile devices require the card also be verified through the app. There is no app for the iMac.

The second issue, if we want to call it that, is C1 is part of a consortium that has introduced their own electronic wallet. Not sure C1 has rolled it out yet but several of the other partners have. They may just be reducing their Apple Wallet footprint.
