I'm based in Australia so the Apple Store won't allow me to change my location since I have credit in my account and I'm trying to buy gift cards for friends in the USA so need the gift cards in USD! Can anyone help me please!!! Thanks

I would be very careful about just going to Buy Apple Gift Cards - Apple as Phil0124 advised. I strongly suspect that it will default to you sending an Australia domination card to a sender someplace, and a person in the USA cannot use an Australian card. I tried to change it to my country being Australia and I cannot find the gift card feature at all. This does not surprise me since gift cards are essentially cash and this would be a wonderful way for people to launder funds internationally.

It's always good to verify what you are buying.
With that said, here's the Gift Card purchase website for Australia. Buy Apple Gift Cards - Apple (AU)
As you can see it changes the currency to A$. and has au in the url. Should it default to the Australian store, it should be fairly obvious before any purchase is made.
The US website should allow him to buy US gifts cards and email them to recipients.
Still verifying before purchase is always highly recommended.
You can only buy cards in USD in the US. Other options to consider: send your friends a pre-paid Visa gift card; transfer them money using the app/method of your choice; see if any of your friends or family members have accidentally bought cards in the U.S. that they can't use and make a swap.
