"The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code 101000)" while trying to copy games from .dmg to applications

updated Mac OS 2 days ago to 15.1.1 (latest), got this error after opening a dmg file and started to move the app inside to my applications folder. it happens mid-way thru the copying process. the file to be copied is 5.9GB and mid-way just after 3.4GB are copied, i get this message. 2 days ago i was on 15.1 and the same app installed/was copied to Applications and ran fine.

Any verified help most welcomed.

thank u one and all

Though, as mentioned previously, " What solved it ? " may in fact help other users when faced with the same issue

Then you too will have not only solved your computer issue and also helped others too .

That is the whole idea of these Forums, helping others with technical issues
