Option to rename missing after Sequoia update

Upon updating to Sequoia 5.1.1, the option to rename several items is missing. Previously it was possible to rename multiple items by selecting them and right-clicking and then selecting the "rename" option. The option has disappeared.

Pressing the Return key doesn't do anything (other than the finder lights up and a sound is heard, like it's an invalid shortcut to press the Return key).

Thanks for your feedback Randall!

Upon further exploration, I found out that the metadata on many files has become "incorrect": many (but not all) files now have a creation date like "January 24, 1984 at 00:00" or "December 31, 1979 at 23:00"' to give two examples. Some of these files are the latest files I was working on, but others are files I haven't touched in years. In total, 563 files have a creation date earlier than the year 2000, which is pretty unlikely...

The rename option is disabled for these files, but the real problem is the metadata. I will ask a more precise question.
