how do I stop an app from reopening after the Mac crashes

I just had a war with my MacBookPro. A game crashed, I rebooted, then it goes back to the same game and crashes. Over and over and over for about twenty times. Is there a way to tell MacOS 15.1.1 to just boot up with out automatically reloading ANY app like the old OSXs did in the generail panel?

I would consider booting in Safe mode.

Then after it boots, restart the mac.

If you don't want any app to start up, check the login items don't have anything in it.

Also, the mac asks before shutdown something like "Do you want to reopen apps on restart" Just say no

If this works for you, I would then question the Mac compatibility of the game.

Hope this helps

the issue is that the game that crashed the OS just reloads on its own after a reboot. So the game crashes, I force reboot since I can't do anything else. When I log back in, it reload the app(s) that were open when it crashed, including the game. and I can't stop it. I do not want the OS to open anything that is not on the "Open at login" list AT ALL. Yes I checked the button in the reboot and shutdown window to off. But the app still loads after reboot.
