Can't get Yahoo Mail (business) to work on iphone or ipad

Hi all, I went through all the suggested troubleshoot in a different thread, but my issue is specific to yahoo bizmail (through Turbify now). Ever since the switch over to Turbify I have been having trouble getting my mail through the apple mail app. This past week I have been having to go in and manually refresh my business email to see new message. NOT ideal. So I followed the troubleshooting suggestions and I'm in an even worse spot now. I cannot get the yahoo mail app to work at all, it keeps giving me an error page that says "Uh Oh, looks like something went wrong. Please try again later".

I have deleted and reinstalled all the apps multiple times, logged in all different ways. Most recently I deleted the reinstalled the mail app (I was just doing the yahoo app) and I got the same error page when trying to login. So now I cannot access my yahoo account anywhere but my browser. I'm ALL apple, my business partner has an android and has no issues with the app. So it's an apple compatibility thing I'm guessing. If anyone has any brilliant suggestions I am game. Yahoo mail only has $$ premium customer service but I'm thinking they won't be much help either way. I just got a new ipad today, same issues there.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 18

  1. Go to https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN15241.html
  2. Click Generate an app password
  3. Follow the instructions and go generate an app password
  4. **Please remember this one-time 'app password' is DIFFERENT from the 'email account password' created by yourselves. (Yahoo didn't make it clear enough.)
  5. Use the newly generated one-time 'app password' as opposed to your own 'email account password', when setup the POP/IMAP account on your iOS device.

I have lived this frustration but I am happy to report it was short-lived. First, I highly recommend you call Turbify.  1-833-689-8585. They walked me through how to setup my biz email accounts on my iphone, ipad and macbook pro. I've had my Yahoo mail for years. After being forced to change my password I couldn't sign into any of the accounts. Turbify walked me through the whole process and it's back to normal. You can also do it yourself if you follow the links below.

To setup or reconnect to your yahoo biz mail on your iphone or ipad follow these instructions: https://help.turbify.com/s/article/set-up-business-mail-in-iOS

To setup or reconnect your yahoo biz mail in apple mail follow these instructions:

https://help.turbify.com/s/article/set-up-business-email-in-mac-mail

Both will require you getting one-time app password. Learn more here: https://help.turbify.com/s/article/manage-app-passwords

It all seems quite confusing on the surface but it's not difficult if you follow the steps or call Turbify to walk you through it. Good luck!

I just spent an hour on the phone with Turbify with the same issues for my business mail account. Was told that Mac Mail (laptop) can only be set up as POP account and iphone Mail can only be set up as IMAP. Therefore, they cannot sync with each other. So frustrating! I was also told that "everyone is fine with reading and deleting their emails twice on two different devices." Ridiculous. I want to migrate my domain name and email account to a different host but don't want to lose my important saved emails. I've had this domain name and email account for over 20 years and never had an issue with Yahoo Business email but Turbify has caused all these problems.

Despite the Turbify help line insisting it was impossible, I think I figured out how to set up my business email on both my iPhone and Macbook so they sync with each other! (I don't have to read and delete twice on two devices, which was ridiculous.) You need to set up both accounts using IMAP. It's been working for a full day now, so hopefully stays that way.

I am having the exact same issue and I have spent a day on the phone with Apple and next day with yahoo. The mail box on my computer is not receiving all of the emails. I am missing a lot of them. The only way I can get all my emails is if I go to yahoo.com and log in. It's a lot of additional time and work.

Please let us know if you have a way to solve this issue.

I am not trying to use the Iphone Apple Mail client.

I cannot even use the Yahoo Mail app for my Turbify Business account.

Same as the last part of the OP's comment:

"I cannot get the yahoo mail app to work at all, it keeps giving me an error page that says "Uh Oh, looks like something went wrong. Please try again later".

Continually getting same "Uh Oh, looks like something went wrong. Please try again later.

I have to use web browser to access my Turbify webmail via Yahoo.

Awesome phone, that since my conversion from Android back in October, I cannot get this iPhone to hook up to my business mail. Been same error message since day 1 with this phone.
