I am buying a new iMac and deciding wether to get the 16GB of memory or 24GB. What limitaions will I see with the 16GB. I am not a gamer so that does not affect my decision.

The RAM configuration that is best for you will depend on exactly what you do or intend to do with the computer.

As DI indicated, it depends on your usage, and of course your budget. But the RAM cannot expanded later, so if budget allows it never hurts to buy more. Your usage may not take full advantage of more RAM, but it might, if not now then in the future as your usage develops.

FWIW, I have a 16GB M3 iMac and have yet to run into memory problems. But as has been pointed out, depends on your needs.
