Why are older 42mm bands incompatible with Apple Watch Series 10?

Why is no one talking about older series 42mm band not fitting series 10 42mm?

I purchased a band from a different manufacturer than Apple and it does not fit my watch, the manufacturer was not even aware of the size difference. They were very lovely and refunded me because of this.

I feel like there is very little to no information regarding this issue. The information that I’ve been able to dig up is very unclear or confusing regarding this size difference. This manufacturer only offers two sizes, and the smaller one doesn’t fit either, it’s too small.

I don’t like any of the styles that Apple has to offer, they’re either too thick or uncomfortable. That almost leaves me no choice as many other manufacturers have not adapted to this change. I had this band on my previous Apple watch and loved it, I’m so sad that Im not able to use it on my new watch and now stuck with the generic rubber one that comes with the watch.
