Thank you for that thorough description. I can find nothing wrong with that network configuration, which leads me to suspect it's a localization bug introduced in the most recent Sequoia update.
Out of curiosity, does anything appear if you click the button at the upper left, "Andere wifiappareten"? There should be an option to select either Wi-Fi or Ethernet, but if your iMac is connected with an Ethernet cable and Wi-Fi is "on" there should be no difference which interface you choose. Try selecting each one. If neither choice results in changing the AirPort Utility screenshot you posted then please contact Apple. Start here: Official Apple Support. If you do not reach a resolution right away, then report it as a suspected localization bug using this page: Feedback - macOS - Apple. Under "Feedback Type" choose Bug Report.

I have no other explanation other than to suspect it's a bug which I am unable to duplicate here in the US.
The name of my LAN, configured on an AirPort Extreme is Gent-AE. The network consisted of Internet --> AirPort Extreme --> AirPort Express. Neither AirPort can be detected anymore. However The LAN still functions through an ethernet cable or wireless for my iMac and wireless for my iPad and iPhone. I use AirPort configuration program version 6.3.9 from Nov. 15, 2024 and operating system macOS Sequoia. The AirPort configuration program says (translated from Dutch) No configured AirPort-base stations found. The program continues searching. It means I have Internet access but my LAN doesn't function properly. See added screenshot.

Thanks. Let us know what Apple has to say. I can't think of any reason it's not working.
When I click the button at the upper left "Andere wifiapparaten" the response is "No new wifi devices found" without any further buttons to be clicked.
There is no difference whether I connect to internet using an ethernet cable or wireless.
I will contact Apple as you suggested.
Many thanks for your support.
