Periodic Screen Flickering on Mac Book Pro M1 - Philips 328E 4k screens

Hello,

I change my old 24" Acer screen to a new Philips 328E 4K.

I use the HDMI cable which come with the screen, but the screen flickering some times. The duration is for 10-20 sec and after it's ok. What's the problem ?

I see different posts : Periodic Screen Flickering on Mac Studio … - Apple Community

With no solutions, and we can't add answer to this old post that's why i create new post.

Regards

that appears to be a 4K at 60 Hz display with:

  • DisplayPort 1.2
  • HDMI 2.0 x 2

your MacBook Pro M1 HDMI port is capable of HDMI at 4K at 60 Hz (HDMI 2.0) PROVIDED:

the HDMI cables used are certified for HDMI 2.0 or better and labelled "PREMIUM" or better (or possibly "ULTRA" or "48K")

The Mac is very demanding about High Spec cables. The cables "shipped in the box" are often 'lowest bidder' cables, and may not meet the high standards demanded for use on a Mac.

DisplayPort alternative:

You could uses an adapter/cable USB-C to DisplayPort, provided it is shorter than one meter.

what cables are you using?
