Warnings of low iPhone battery on macOS Sequoia when connected via hotspot

Just got another popup of it. This time the Mac OS is showing something different - LTE and very low battery, but at the exact same time the iPhone is actually still showing 5G+ and 100% battery.

Same for me. Since I upgraded to Sequoia 15.3.1, my MacBook Air is seeing 3G low signal and 50% battery. But my iPhone 16 Pro Max has 99% battery, and is on LTE full bars of reception.

iOS 18.6, macOS 15.6 - still not fixed

Happening on a MacPro 2019 with Sequoia. The info on the connection is wrong (as reported by Bryan Russell1) and the message keeps popping up on my screen together with an audio warning. Connection via hotspot with both MacPro and iPhone on full battery and plugged in.

Mine are both always updated and not physically connected to anything, and I still get the "low battery" reading. This has been happening for the past few years even with my newest phones. My Mac is about 5 years old.

Still no fix as of nearly April 2025. Unacceptable.

My 5GUW connection on my iPhone 16 Pro is being read as 1x, which is the amongst the lowest possible data signals (No service, SOS only, 1x, 2G, 3G, 4G, LTE, 5G, 5G+, 5G UC, 5G UW etc.), I believe.

Moreover, the "low battery" notifications also remain frequent and spontaneous.

Apple, please distribute a fix through a software update soon. Seriously.

I am currently studying for school exams from morning to the night on my mac and this notification pops up like every 2 hours because I am connected on my iphone's hotspot, which is btw charging during the whole day. It is obviously annoying while I'm trying to reduce as many distractions as possible to focus.

I have been dealing with this issue for the last few months as well. Please fix it.

This finally happened to me this past weekend while DJing. I had my iPhone 14 Pro Max as a hot spot for my MBP 2018 running the latest OS. My phone was at 💯 % ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ What are the solutions to this bug? I wound up disconnecting though I probably didn’t need to. Thanks!

Now June 2025. This has only just started happening to me after I upgraded to Sequoia 15.5.

So still not fixed and wasn't happening till I upgraded.

Low battery disconnect message all the time.

Also random networks ranging from 2g LTE, GPRS, 3G, 4G and 5G.

It is a shame Apple cant be bothered fixing it. I would have been better off not upgrading.

Same issue. I have an iPhone 16 and MacBook Pro 2023. IOS 15.5. After an hour, I get the low battery message on the Wifi even when phone has 80 percent charge left. Apple, please fix this or explain it.

Exact same problem--brand new Air (Sept. '25, Sequoia 15.6). Never had it on my previous Mac Air. I actually started think there might be some OTHER hot spot battery in the thing(!), so glad to see others are having same issue...

For me, the issue persists on Sequoia at 15.3 using my iPhone 14 Pro (18.3). Filing a new bug report.
