Why are Facebook comments split on my iPad Pro?

The Facebook comments on my iPad Pro are split into two columns and I can’t read the right column. It’s a split screen, but not the type of split screen that you can slide left or right to make a full screen snd there are no 3 vertical buttons to click on to go to full screen. In addition, my iPad settings indicate that I have full screen in effect. I tried to contact Facebook about this but got no response. Please look at the screen shot I’m posting. Can you help? Please!

OK I think I’ve solved this mystery splitting issue. I went to settings and turned OFF the multitasking/split screen option. Went back to FB and tada no more FB comments in that partially viewable right column on the screen.

So then I went into setting again and set the Multitasking/split screen back to ON and checked…yep there was that annoying partial right column screen.

So it’s seems there’s an incompatibility with the FB app and the Apple Split screen functionality.

Sure hope they fix it, but for now I’m not using the Split Screen option on my iPad.

Same here. I’ve researched high and low…this is the 1st forum I’ve found that talks about this problem. I think it all started with IOS 18.1 or 18.1.1. I'm guessing it thinks FB in landscape mode should be 2 columns wide, but sa people point out the right hand column only displays about 80% of its width.

Portrait mode on iPad is fine….its either Apple or FB that have some piece of code that’s trying to fill the screen on landscape. Hope they fix it soon.

Thanks for the suggestions, Nick. I tried swiping up on my iPad to force quit the application but it didn’t work. I considered deleting the Facebook app on my iPad and then reinstalling it but I received a warning that I would lose all my data so I didn’t want to try that. I also tried accessing Facebook on my browser but it was worse there. I got three screens! I have no problem on my iPhone and no problem on my computer. It’s just on my iPad and it’s so frustrating. Thank you for trying to help.

Sorry but I guess on/off on multitasking actually doesn’t solve this. A bit more testing and it seems that somehow it’s a positional thing. It’s where the post is positioned vertically on your screen when you click on comments that seems to determine whether you get the 2 column effect or not. So back to the drawing board…

im back to thinking it’s something that FB has done. But it sure is annoying and the the fact that it has to do with where you have scrolled to on the post is why it’s seemingly random…and even on the same post.
