Mysterious icon on iMac M4 menu bar
I have just got my M4 iMac and have noticed a strange icon on the menu bar, the one on the far left. Does anyone know what it is and how can I remove it?

All sorted, thanks to chatgpt. Turns out it was for stage manager which can be turned off via system settings/desktop & dock/stage manager.

FWIW, if it's not there in Safe Mode then it's from a third-party app.
Someone else may be able to recognize it, but download and run the free version of EtreCheckPro, from > https://etrecheck.com/en/index.html
Then post that Report, as per > How to use the Add Text Feature When Post… - Apple Community
Then we can see what's running and probably identify where that icon is coming from.
Regards.
You've likely added some bit of software that has installed this.
What is indicated when you click it? Does it present an option to Quit?
What does clicking on the + show..?
In addition to that, it looks like you have also added some third-party Utility and Protection ware.
Which are totally unnecessary give the fact that macOS has built-in Security.
This is what I get when I click on it. Right click has no effect.
