Whenever I try to plug my new iPhone 16 Pro Max in to charge using my wall chargers, I receive an error that says “Cannot Use Accessory: This accessory uses too much power.”
How do I get my phone to stop thinking that my wall charger is an accessory? This happens both my Apple charger and different brands of certified Apple accepted cords.
The error pops up every minute or so and ultimately will not allow the phone to charge.

My iPhone 16 Pro Max will not charge via USB-C cable using a USB-C to USB-A adapter, but will charge using a dedicated USB-C charging brick (Anker brand, specifically). Try using a USB-C brick and no adapter.
Alternatively, try using a USB-C to USB-A data cable (as opposed to just a charging cable). My phone refuses to charge via a charging cable (only two conductors within the cable are actually connected) but does just fine with a data cable (all four conductors connected).

If you purchased it in an Apple Store I’d return to the store ASAP and if within 14 days return or exchange for a new iPhone. If longer, get it diagnosed and resolve the issue.

Your Apple charger does the same thing? What cable are you using? Is it Apple Brand or third party cable?
