Then there is either something physically wrong with the cable, the power brick, or the phone.

Try a different charger and cable to see if you can isolate the problem. If that doesn’t help, make an appointment at the Genius Bar and have the phone checked.

I don’t suppose you got a warning at some point about liquid in the charging port on the phone and selected the option to bypass it…?

Where are you seeing that message? On the phone? Are you using the original cable that came with the phone?

Are you using a genuine Apple charger?

Have you checked the port on the phone for lint or dirt that may be interfering with the connection?
