Apps don’t work after updating to iOS 18.1.1

I updated my iOS to 18.1.1 on my iPhone pro max 16 last night and this morning I’d say about 80% of my apps refuse to open. Reinstalling doesn’t seem to solve the issue. Causing me major issues as I can’t open my banking apps to verify transactions. Can anyone tell me how to roll back my iOS update or if there is a fix?

Just updated to 18.1.1. The vast majority of my apps start to open, then the icon disappears and does not start. Don't have a VPN, did force reboot several times. Very upset with Apple that they push out this updates, and then we must uninstall and reinstall all of our apps. REDICULOUS!!! Haven't seen any solutions from Apple, and the posts I read do not help.

Extremely upset with this update. My text messages are coming in after hours of delay, my maps will not load, browser pages will not load, I could not use the calculator app for two days which I use for emergency drug calculations in the veterinary ER. Email and Snapchat notifications come through but the messages aren’t delivered for hours to come. My phone is a year old and still being paid for. This has been disastrous on so many levels - my patients have been delayed in receiving care, I was abandoned on back roads with the map no longer loading, delayed text messages that were urgent in nature. I am furious.

Yeah same here. My iPhone has turned with this new update. I’m having issues with connecting to wifi. My iPad Pro and Mac is fine! My iPhone is defaulting to cellular only and I have to turn cellular off to make my iPhone use wifi. Anyone else having this issue? And no my wifi is fine, as I said IPad and MacBook connect and use it immediately.

That’s the issue. Bank in particular won’t operate if VPN is detected. It doesn’t need to be activate or even used.

Delete VPN, VPN profile in Settings and any VPN software. Then reset network settings. Then do a forced restart of you iPhone.

Jf you need instructions for resetting network settings or forced restart let me know.

You may need to delete the apps, download again and log into apps again.

And it appears none of these apps are Apple apps. If 3rd party apps aren't updated appropriately by their App Developers for iOS 18, which Apple sent them the Application Protocol Interface long before iOS 18 was rolled out, that's on the App Developer, not Apple. Apple has NO control over 3rd party apps. They don't own them. They can't touch the code in them. They can't fix any issue with them.

For these apps, you need to contact the app developers of these apps and complain to them.

I found a way to open the apps. It was still a big pain.... I went into the App Store app. I then clicked on my profile at the top of the app. I updated any apps that needed updating, and then opened every app one by one from the App Store app. I had to find and re-enter some of my passwords, but I believe everything is working now. The biggest headache was getting my password manager app working to allow me to get to the passwords.

I have had no problems whatsoever, I am running a VPN to the bank and all keeps working so there is no problem either with installed VPN's (OpenVPN) as was previously suggested by someone who claims VPN's are the choice of scammers, while in fact that is fearmongering by governments that want to have full vision and control of what you do on the internet, instead it will (moderately) protect you against attacks and hacks instead.

But back on-topic, there must be something wrong with the Iphone -update combination, maybe iOS18.1.1 only runs smooth on the newest phones.. (got a 16 pro).

So it would be interesting to see which Iphones are effected by this event. I cannot test myself because my old one is not supporting anything above iOS15, the whole reason for buying a new one.. I tend to keep my phone for 8 years before passing them to my kids...
