Apps don’t work after updating to iOS 18.1.1

I updated my iOS to 18.1.1 on my iPhone pro max 16 last night and this morning I’d say about 80% of my apps refuse to open. Reinstalling doesn’t seem to solve the issue. Causing me major issues as I can’t open my banking apps to verify transactions. Can anyone tell me how to roll back my iOS update or if there is a fix?

I found a way to open the apps. It was still a big pain.... I went into the App Store app. I then clicked on my profile at the top of the app. I updated any apps that needed updating, and then opened every app one by one from the App Store app. I had to find and re-enter some of my passwords, but I believe everything is working now. The biggest headache was getting my password manager app working to allow me to get to the passwords.

After a few reboots, I was going to try to restore from a backup on iTunes, but the iPhone rebooted while sitting in restore mode and did not start a restore. I was sure I would need to restore all apps but first I reset Network Settings and reconnected to WiFi. No change. I uninstalled and reinstalled Google Chrome. After doing that, non-Apple apps started working again. I remember that while trying to open apps previously a message briefly popped up stating I needed to have Internet access. Oddly enough I did have Internet access since Safari was working fine, but at the time I could not open any apps. I'm happy to have my Microsoft and Google Authenticator back!

That’s the issue. Bank in particular won’t operate if VPN is detected. It doesn’t need to be activate or even used.

Delete VPN, VPN profile in Settings and any VPN software. Then reset network settings. Then do a forced restart of you iPhone.

Jf you need instructions for resetting network settings or forced restart let me know.

You may need to delete the apps, download again and log into apps again.

After the update I cannot access some websites and bank sites. I enter a link and the then it freezes.
i can see that others have similar problems but the issue seems to be (so far) ignored by Apple.

If you use a VPN on your iPhone, turn it off or better yet, remove it completely and then see if you can access banks, etc.

After iOS 18 upgrade 90% of my apps are not working Netflix Paramount plus bank apps Disney Airline apps airport apps hire car apps to name a few so really hacked off with apple as it did the update Automatically so unaware of the update till too late so that’s been switched off now and no more upgrades till Apple gets its act together this upgrade was not ready simple as that so many people affected come on Apple losing confidence in you

You must under the impression you're speaking with Apple? This is a user to user only forum, not Apple Support. Not a single app doesn't work on any of my devices running iOS 18.1.1. Netflix works. Paramount works. My banking apps work. Every app works just as they did before the update. So blaming the update for your issues, is likely not the culprit.

Do you by chance use a VPN on your iPhone? VPNs are completely unnecessary and often cause connectivity issues. If you do use a VPN, at a minimum, turn it off, but better yet, delete the VPN profile completely.

Have you updated all those apps? Venmo works perfectly o my iPhone. Peloton hasn’t updated their app in almost 3 weeks. It’s not been updated for 18.1.1 Ring hasn’t updated their app in over 3 weeks. Again, an app the developer has not made compatible with security updates released in 18.1.1

If you want a resolution, urge the companies/developers of the apps you’re using to hurry up and update their apps.

Still having issues here too weeks later. Every new app I try to go back to errors out. Frustrating!

Then it sounds like you need to schedule an appointment with the Genius Bar at an Apple Store. Or take it to an authorized Apple service provider for examination and diagnosis. If you are not willing to do that then continuing to create other posts with the same question is useless.
