Why is my date covered on the Apple Watch Ultra 2 watch face?

I have set up my ultra 2 watch face to change whenever I raise my wrist. I have created several pictures of my wife that have the time at the top and the date at the bottom. Why is the date encircled by a white race-track shaped image that makes the date unreadable.

Are you using a Photo Watch face that has been created in the previous version of watchOS?

If have watchOS 11 installed on my Apple Watch Ultra 2, and if create a Photo watch face, I can choose where the time will be positioned, and if the complication should show the "Date" or "Your Schedule".

"Your Schedule" will be showing the events that are part of the calendar used on your iPhone.

As you can see on the Photos watch face I created, the complication underneath the actual time shows the next upcoming event at 20:00h. If I tap on this part of the screen, the calendar app on my watch will open up and give me more details.

Did you check, if the default calendar app is installed on your watch?

Have a look at the related page of the Apple Watch User guide:

Check and update your calendar on Apple Watch - Apple Support

To check which calendar is being used on your watch, open the WatchApp on your iPhone, select Calendars, and then tap on "Mirror my iPhone", in case your calendar app on your iPhone already shows your wife's calendar.

Feel free to ask more questions, if I my explanations were too complicated.

in regards To checking settings for complications date/calendar for this photo watch face: I am new to the Apple Watch and am at a loss as to how to do this.

The calendar I want is on my wife’s account. All I want to do is to tell my watch to go to that calendar. Instead, it’s going to some other calendar that I set up before I understood how to show my wife’s calendar on my iPhone. You mentioned something about mirroring and, once more, I am at a loss. I am including screenshots of the watch face we are talking about. note that the white race track shaped object is overlaid on the date of this watch face. When I tap there, I get the Notification to upload a calendar. Oh yeah, thanks for your reply

Tried the reboot – no joy .

The racetrack shaped image on my I watch face behaves like the Dynamicisland at the top of my iPhone. Also , when I tap on this watch face image I get a message that I need to download my calendar. I think my watch is trying to get me to download a calendar, however, it’s an old calendar that I used to have and no longer use. The calendar I want is the one my wife maintains and if I’m going to download anything that’s why I’m going to download, but I don’t know how
