How to delete Profiles/MDM?

I'm using a Macbook air 2017 (NOT the Macbook Air M2 15" as noted elsewhere in relation to this post), running Monterey OS12.7.6 and Safari 17.6 and suddenly I'm getting a pop-up window "Profiles/MDM wants to make changes" (see screenshot)

How do I delete getting this window? Where is MDM located? This is my computer and I haven't installed this MDM thing.

If I may add/

Predicated on the work already done by @John Galt

If , in fact, this computer is configured with a MDM Service

Although you Own the computer

The MDM Service controls most of what the computer can and can not do

As long as the Computer Serial Number is registered with the MDM Service Database

There is little one can do about this, outside of communicating with the MDM Directly and requesting them to Remove the computer serial number

Thank you to all who replied. Even though I have used the Macintosh computer since 1984 and taught 2500 people how to use it, I do not understand the solutions offered to me, particularly since it appears that one person thinks it a-okay to delete MDM and another indicates an MDM controls much of what my laptop is doing? < I'm not even sure I've interpreted or understood ya'll's comments? I shall wait to see if the pop-up message appears again as I haven't used that Macbook Air 2017 since posting my query.

MDM profiles can be set up to manage devices, or to supervise devices.

The former profiles can be removed by the user. The MDM profile(s) can be deleted, in simplest terms.

The latter profiles cannot. Not without the assistance of the entity holding the supervisory lock, or Apple.

I would encourage you to answer the questions posed too, such as those asked by John Galt above.
