TV 4k remote control and Bluetooth interference

Many other users have remote control problems such as: unstoppable scrolling, unstoppable volume increase / decrease, unresponsive pause, unresponsive 'go back', etc. and some have found that changing the HDMI cable to a better (proper internally shielded) type solved the problem. I have found that solution does work, but if your HDMI cable is already installed in a cable duct or through small holes it might be impossible to remove it or just very inconvenient.

My solution was to try a clip-on ferrite collar placed at the Apple TV 4k end of the cable. It worked! The ferrite stops the high frequency interference from being transmitted by the HDMI cable into the sensitive Bluetooth circuitry inside the Apple TV 4k. A shielded HDMI cable should do the same, but may not if it is a cheap one, so the ferrite collar is a quick and effective cure. It is a good idea to use a cable tie to stop the ferrite collar from sliding away from the Apple TV 4k end of the cable if the collar is a loose fit.

Don't zip the cable tie too tight or loop a thinner HDMI cable through the ferrite collar twice because it can damage the fine internal wires.
