September 24, 2017 was the last date MacBook Pros were released new to be able to run Sierra from Internet Recovery or a clone, or custom installation flash with 10.12.6. If your Mac is newer, you will only be able to run High Sierra or later starting with Macs released the following date.

Your signature indicates you had an iMac Pro, not a MacBook Pro. If you have both please disregard this observation. The iMac Pro was never compatible with the original Sierra, as it was initially released December of 2017.
