2011 Macbook pro erased and reset but unable to install operating system.

2011 Macbook pro has been erased and reset and now I want to reinstall the operating system which was Sierra. When I try to do this via disk utilities I get error message "an error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again" Prior to erasure I was running Sierra 10.12.6. I have also tried

Option Command R and Shift Option Command R which give me different options but none of them have resulted in an OS being installed in this machine. My disk utilities looks like this I have clicked on Macintosh HD and erased that.

Does anyone know what I need to do now please?

If you have another Mac, create bootable installer on USB memory to install macOS Sierra on your MacBook Pro.

Hi,

Try to run First Aid on ST750LX003-1A..., it could be possible it reports errors and reformat the drive again.

Then try to reinstall macOS on the drive again.

What I am trying to say is that my current MacBook will not allow me to have a copy of either Sierra or High Sierra available to download as it is incompatible with my new machine. Therefore I wondered if I should just buy a stick with the macOS on it from elsewhere.

Thank you so much for helping me to get this resolved. I bought a USB with macOS High Sierra on it and have successfully loaded the OS onto my old MacBook pro. I wouldn't have known what to do without your help so I am very grateful. Thank you.

Thanks for responding to my request. I ran First Aid on ST750LX003-1AC154 Media as suggested and then tried to reinstall macOS but still have same problem.

Do you have any further ideas please?

Thank you. My new MacBook is not compatible with Sierra or High Sierra (I'm pretty confident my old MacBook Pro 2011 can run High Sierra although I only had Sierra running) so I am thinking the best thing to do is buy a copy from somewhere like Amazon unless you think that is a very bad idea.

Otherwise I am not sure how I can get Sierra or High Sierra via my new MacBook which is a 2022 M2 one
