Swiping action to open Home Screen not working

Since the ios 18 & 18.1.1 update I am having extreme difficulty when swiping from down to top to open the home page with all your apps. Also certain letters don’t work on the keyboard. I called Apple support they did a diagnostic which was all good. The agent did a screen share & is saying I am not swiping properly which is totally untrue as I have been using iPad for years. Even others in my family have same problems when swiping on the iPad. Please advise. Thankyou.

Your Home Screen is accessed using an upward swipe from the bottom edge of your iPad screen.

Swiping down from the top of the screen instead exposes the Notification Centre - while a downward swipe from the top-right corner opens the Control Centre.

Hi Thankyou I worded it incorrectly- I meant swiping upward from the bottom- since the last update I am having constant problems with is feature.
