Recommend me a best & safe heic to jpg converter for my Win 11 PC

Recently I encountered a problem. I have nearly 1,300 photos in HEIC format on my computer, but I need to convert them to JPG format because I need to edit and share these photos, and many platforms do not support HEIC format. I have tried some online tools, but the conversion speed is slow, and some will compress the pictures, resulting in a decrease in image quality.

So I was wondering if I could find a better HEIC to JPG converter, preferably one that can be used directly on the PC, does not require an Internet connection, and can maintain the image quality. Does anyone have similar experience and can recommend a good tool? I hope it can be converted in batches, and the operation is simple, preferably without ads and watermarks. Thank you everyone!

I also had a bunch of photos in HEIC format before, and I wanted to convert them to JPG. I tried several methods and finally found that the built-in Paint application in Windows 10 can actually do it. Although it is not suitable for batch conversion, it is quite convenient if there are several pictures.

  1. Open the HEIC picture and view it with the Paint application. You just need to right-click the picture, select Open with, and then select Paint.
  2. After the picture is opened, click File in the upper left corner, and then select Save as.
  3. In the pop-up window, select JPG format and save it.

Disadvantages:

Only suitable for single conversion. If there are many pictures, this method is not very suitable.

It cannot be processed in batches, and each picture must be manually operated.

The Paint function is simple. If a large number of pictures need to be processed after conversion, the efficiency is not high.

However, for a small number of pictures, this method is still very convenient. After all, there is no need to install any additional heic to jpg converter tools, and the problem can be solved directly with the system's built-in functions.

Thanks for your suggestion,I have tried using IrfanView as a HEIC to JPG converter before, but I don't think it works very well. The interface is a bit old, the operation is not intuitive, and you have to install a plug-in to support the HEIC format, which is quite troublesome.

Batch conversion is not very convenient either, and you need to set it up manually, which makes it a bit difficult to operate each time. It's fine if you only want to convert a few pictures occasionally, but it's really not convenient enough to convert a lot of pictures.

This method sounds pretty simple! But I think it is indeed a bit troublesome when batch converting, just like you said. If there are a lot of HEIC pictures to convert, I will be annoyed to do it one by one manually.

I am wondering, besides Paint, is there any better method or tool to batch convert HEIC files? It is best that it does not require the installation of any complicated software. Do you have any recommendations?

Converting HEIC to JPG on a Windows 11 PC using the built-in Photos app can definitely get the job done, but it comes with some drawbacks. The Photos app only lets you convert one HEIC file at a time. If you’ve got a ton of images from your iPhone or other sources, this can feel like watching paint dry. I mean, if you’re converting bulk images, why do it one by one? It’s super tedious!

As a HEIC to JPG converter app that only allows you to save as JPG. If you need other formats like PNG or TIFF for some special reason, you're out of luck. Sometimes you just wanna try different formats, especially if you're preserving certain qualities or details in images, and the Photos app doesn't cut it for that.
