Can't swipe up to close apps after latest update on my iPhone 12 Pro Max

I updated my phone today 27/11/24 and I can no longer navigate normally - generally unresponsive and can’t swipe up to close apps?!

Please perform a forced restart. It does much more than just turning your device off and back on again. If you’re not familiar with the procedure, please follow the step by step instructions in the Apple Support article I linked below.

Sorry if you thought I was being rude. I explain the procedure 10 to 15 times a day. I think what you might be experiencing is a slight change in the interface due to an implementation of Apple Intelligence.


In order to swipe up on my iPhone Pro Max screen, I have to swipe up from the very bottom of the screen, swiping up and over the very bottom edge of the screen.
