I would like to trade in my old iPhone to iphone 16. However since my country bans the sales of iPhone 16, so looks like I have to to purchase it overseas. Can I trade my previous phone (which I buy in my home country) with the one sold in the overseas Apple Store? If so, what are the procedures?

I strongly recommend not purchasing an iPhone outside of the country in which you live. The warranty on an iPhone is not international and so it would be quite possible to find that if you needed service you could not get it in your country. This will almost certainly be the case with an iPhone 16 since Apple cannot yet sell it in your country so service will most likely not be available. In addition, carrier support differs from country to country, so the iPhone from one country may not work in another. I would recommend just waiting until your country approves the sale of the iPhone 16.

That is a complicated situation. It would be best if you contact someone at the Apple Store where you wish to make the purchase and ask them about trade in.
