Apple Watch Ultra burn/wrist fractures

Hi community. I have an Ultra watch. Usually take it off at night. Used it with the band that came with it. Not too loose, not too tight. March 2023 slipped and fell backwards on ice, broke radius at the front of where the watch ended. Forward a year. Moved watch to other arm, fell on (hard dirt) that one. Broke that radius the exact same place over the edge of the watch (this time it was no longer aligned). Now gotten a flexible band and watch burns my skin. Anyone else have any of these issues?

Allergies to the watch (nickel) and band (acrylates) compositions are not uncommon and can produce rashes and burning.

Fractures on the other hand would have no relation to wearing the watch. As mentioned by MrHoffman, that is likely more to do with an underlying bone condition you should talk to a doctor about than the watch.

Ask your medical provider about both your skin reactions and about your fractures; dermatitis and such are fairly common, and your physical activities are either intense or the fractures might indicate an underlying medical condition.

In addition to (and not as a replacement for!) discussions directly with your medical provider, you can also discuss this directly with Apple Support.

Thank you. Yes, as a farmer, horse trainer and trucker it is a very physical life for the most. I have not had any other fractures in 16 years and both these very at the exact same locating-where the watch ended closer to the hand. Just wondering if this is a common injury. And the burning and skin issues started with the more elastic strap.

I’m well aware of the effort and dangers involved in your activities.

I’m concerned that you might have underlying issues, both with dermatitis or related skin conditions — search for that and related — and also with your proclivities for bone fractures, and would again suggest seeking medical assistance if you can at all organize that. (While I’ve had more medical training than many, I’m very far from a medical provider.)

Some of the farmers of my experience will ignore more than they should. It’d be a comedy, but for the some of the outcomes.

Just interesting that of all the bones that could have broken in those falls (and falls are a part of farm life and have been for 45 years) that both fractures happened the exact same location and I felt the bone stopped by the watch before the crack sound. I’ve worn Apple Watches for years but never had any issues, breaks/skin even in falls, before the Ultra.
