IPhone 11 stuck in weird mode sorta urgent!

Got my mom an iPhone 11 because they are supposed to be easy for older people


She started to set it up and first it refused the WiFi password. Then it told her to put the phones next each other to transfer data.


Suddenly the new phone got an almost blank screen with part of the word emergency on the screen. The word was printed in a large enough text it does not fit. Otherwise the screen is blank grey.


I can’t even turn it off. Mom is panicking.

Just FYI - The model of the iPhone does not determine whether it is easier to use than another model. It is the iOS (operating system) that determines that.


Regardless, Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF). 


Once the above has been successfully performed, then try transferring data again. Ensure that the iPhone 11 is charging at the same time the data is being transferred.
