Apple TV remote has died

Suddenly my Apple TV remote died. It doesn't charge - can't seem to find out what's wrong it's 1st generation.

can I purchase another one?

As the other poster stated you would have to scour the used market for the original remote. However, the newer generation is still compatible with the Apple TV HD so that's still an option should you be unable to find the other.

Apple doesn't sell the first generation remote anymore, so you might need to search on the second hand or refurbished market.

You can buy a silver Siri Remote and it will work with any Apple TV that used the black remote.

Or there is a simpler remote (no touchpad) from One-For-All at half the price - should be on Amazon.
