Mail.app v16.0 deleted mail rules... why?

Apple MBA M1 running Sequoia 15.1.1

Recently added a bunch of rules to mail.app and now they have all been deleted.

I do not have Clean My Mac installed. I am using Spam Sieve. And even if iCloud synching is on, this should not happen. But it seems to be a recurring problem.

I would have expected mail.app to be a bit more stable than this.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 15.1

Please try this :

  • Leave Mail.
  • Open System Settings.
  • Click your name (top left).
  • Click iCloud.
  • Click "iCloud Drive" (This is the important part.)
  • Click "Apps synching to iCloud Drive".
  • Disable Mail.
  • Click Done.

Once this is done, open Mail and create your signatures and rules. Quit and reopen Mail to verify that they are still present. If so, restart your Mac and check again for their presence.

If everything seems normal, resume steps 1 to 8 but, this time, activate Mail in step 7.
