My iPhone 16 Pro Max, which I have for 3 weeks, keeps rebooting alone. It blocks the screen than shuts down and restarts again. I have the latest IOS, which is 18.1.1, ands is doing this. I tried a reset and keeps doing this. Is anyone else suffering from this? I don’t know what to do, if I send it back tho the guarantee or wait until IOS 18.2 comes out…

Hello. I am having the same exact issue. iOS 18.1 was supposed to remedy this. However, it still persists unfortunately. If it is an issue for you, then I would suggest backing up your device to a computer and doing a fresh install. It is not too much of a hassle for me, which is why I haven’t gone that route. In absence of that, I would just wait to see if iOS 18.2 remedies the issue. Hope this helps.
You can make a iCloud backup, however that does not copy the entirety of your device (Only Most Important Items and items not already synced via iCloud). See What does iCloud back up? - Apple Support. I recommend a periodic backup to a computer to sync all of your device content.
What do you mean by backing up the device to a computer? It’s making a cloud copy and the erase the phone?
Where did you see that iOS 18.1 was supposed to remedy this? If it wasn’t directly from Apple I doubt the validity. I haven’t seen any Apple notifications about this.
Hello. It is in the release notes of the software release. See About iOS 18 Updates - Apple Support. Look under the section for iOS 18.1. It is last bullet point.
Thank you. I was not aware. 18.1.1 was purely a security update, which is why it probably didn’t fix it. I expect 18.2 shortly.
You’re welcome. No worries. I am hoping iOS 18.2 rectifies the issues myself as well. Very annoying to have iPhone randomly restart when trying to accomplish something. Happy Holidays.
