Camera not working after ios 18.1.1 Update (iPhone 12 pro max)

Me too on a 14 plus. Everything was fine this morning until I updated to 18.1.1. Now, I get a black screen every time on camera launch. Selfie camera worked one time, but wouldn't flip back to front camera and now also stays all black(sometimes a 1-inch amber rectangle floats around for a bit on the black field.)

The flashlight also stopped working.

Rebooted, reset all data, tried other camera apps, no luck.

So yes I did try all solutions. imo it's either an issue with iOS 18.1.1, or a hardware issue that happened around the same time I updated iOS - I guess that's not impossible, just unlikely. I think I'll just wait for the next iOS update and hope it fixes it, though it's bloody annoying...

My phone has a pink background and is super glitchy. I can only connect to wifi occasionally, so need to keep oscillating between data and turning off wifi, which is super annoying and inconvenient ( started after update while overseas for holiday). Any thoughts about the pink background?

Same issue with an iPhone 12 mini. Camera would not focus properly after 18.1.1 update. You can see it go into and then out of focus on the screen.

Updating to 18.2 did not resolve this issue. Have scheduled a Genius Bar appointment to replace the camera module at what I think is a lot of $ when this should not have failed and pretty cleerly there is a software issue involved.

Tried all steps suggested other than reverting settings to factory original. Not going to do that hassle plus, as far as I can tell, there are not a lot of settings that afffect the camera and none of them have been changed since the phone was originally placed in service.

Boo on Apple for this--really they should be sued but of course that won't work.

Same with me.. for almost 1 month the problem is persisting. On top of that, my iphone is not capturing network properly. Instead of capturing 5G network, it is only capturing Edge and in some cases no signal. Currently IOS version is 18.1.1, but the problem is still there.

It’s clear is a software issue. The system update fixed it, probably with no intention. It has worked less than 2 months. Any archive that link flashlight and camera? And that other apps use with the camera but not all.

Yes and no fixing. And now flashlight is not working either. Tried native and third party apps.

And camera app now no option to exposition button. It doesn’t appear.

Great! But I still think it’s software and so, it may go back again…

Curiously, in Whatsapp the camera works.

I’d wait till 8.2 but I’m going to apple store to check it too.

Maybe an error as Europe has other iOS due to some laws.

Try the 8.2 update. It has fixed my errors.

Just updated to latest ios. Still flash and camera is not performing like it should be.
