Question

iPhone 14 upgrade to iOS 18.

I've been stalling in upgrading my iPhone 14 because I've heard there were a lot

of sound issues on this upgrade. Is that now corrected; as we're now at

iOS 18.1.1 ? Thanks for your help.

email notification sound disappears

my sound cuts out briefly when locking or unlocking and sometime when I move the phone, like it’s happening when the screen activates or Face ID scans or something. Same with headsound suddenly disappears, had to restart twice to get it back

I also have no sound, restarting doesn't help

I just updated to IOS 18.1.1 two days ago. I am on an IPhone 14 Plus. Now my sound is very muted. If I set it to about half with the buttons on the left side of my phone, I can barely hear the sound when I play the PBS app for example.

Can you disclose which sound issues you are hearing about that are related to the iOS 18 update? I have iOS 18 installed on my iPhone 15 Pro Max and am not experiencing any sound issues.

What sound issues? We've had none on either of our iPhone's on iOS 18 or 18.01 or iOS 18.1 and none on iOS 18.1.1.

I'm confused, are these issues you already have, but you haven't updated to iOS 18.1.1 yet?

I was concerned that I may have those same issues if I did go ahead with the upgrade to iOS 18. I haven’t upgraded yet. I’m still on iOS 17.7.2. Thanks

Again, we don't have any of the issues you referred to. I don't know anyone personally who does and i know many who are on iOS 18.
