Did you read that they want to trade their phone in for a refurbished phone? I'm not aware Apple takes trades towards Refurbished devices in their refurbished store. I just went to the Refurbished Store and they don't offer any option to use a trade. Do you know something different?

Yes. I read that, but may have misinterpreted it the other way --Apple having the refurbished phone.
