Upgrading from Ventura 13.2 to Ventura 13.7.1 I recieved this notification: System Extension Error occured with your system during the startup and they need to be rebuilt before they can be used. Go to Privacy & Security in System Setting to re-enable them"
Did you follow those instructions to re-enable them? The option to re-enable will disappear after a short time, so you may need to reboot the computer in order to see the "enable" option appear in "Privacy & Security" System Settings.
What is the effect of this error ?
The apps related to those extensions will not work correctly (or perhaps at all) until you re-enable those system extensions.
How is imy computer's operation compromised?
Anything that relies on those particular system extensions either won't be fully functional or may not function at all (depends on the app).
Do I need to fix this?
Yes, if you want to use the software associated with those system extensions.
I went to Privacy & Security but it wasnt clear to me what I'm supposed to do. Thanks so much for any help.
Since the "enable" option only appears for a short while, you may need to reboot the computer in order to see the "enable" option appear for those system extensions.
Just scroll down the "Privacy & Security" section until you reach the second section (it will probably be over halfway down the page) to the "Security" section. You should see something regarding enabling the system extensions. See this post here which provides more details and even a screenshot:
