Force kill iPad with only buttons?

In a game I was playing, a modal system dialog opened which is normal but due to some bug in the game, this time the cancel and continue buttons do nothing. Since I can’t dismiss it, I can not escape the app to the Home Screen. If I try to force shutdown the IPad , I can not move the power off slider.

Is there another button combo that will force a shutdown without needing to use the screen?

I guess if not I will need to wait for the fully charged battery to get to zero? 🙄

Thank you, clicking volume up, volume down and then holding the top button until the Apple logo per the instructions go me past the power down page and restarted the iPad. Thank you so much. It was going to take forever to wait for the battery to die.
