New 2024 Samsung tv says Apple TV is a speaker

I just got a new Samsung tv yesterday November 2024 on Black Friday. I have had several Samsung before and zero issues. Until now. The new tv keeps defaulting the output as of my Apple TV is the speaker and does not stay on the default tv speakers. I have no external speakers. Apple TV has been used for a year on previous Samsung. New tv two years ago works fine on Apple TV. Apple TV is up to date. Tv has latest firmware. Tried new cables. Reset tv defaults many times. HDMI 1 and 2 says that eArch is not supported and to use HDMI 3 which is the eArch port. I do but it will default sound to Apple TV as a speaker. I then need to manually choose TV speakers. Why is this doing it?

Apple TV can be the audio processor when connected to ARC or eARC on the TV, for users with HomePod speakers. For ‘all’ of the TV’s audio, not just from Apple TV. If you don’t have HomePods, or don’t want to use HomePods for TV audio, then don’t connect the Apple TV box to an ARC or eARC port on the TV, but use a different HDMI port instead.

The ARC or eARC port is intended for the connection between the TV and audio system — not for devices that just give signal input only. Audio systems like receivers and soundbars. Although this port doubles for source input as well, you may run into automatic different expectations for audio processing.

Use HDMI ARC or eARC with your Apple TV 4K (2nd generation or later) and HomePod - Apple Support

The TV’s HDMI port marked as ARC or eARC is for two-way signals: full bandwidth input (video + audio), and limited bandwidth output for audio-only in the other direction. When the TV’s HDMI port is configured for eARC, it has enhanced bandwidth available, so that PCM and other high bandwidth audio can have their signals through this port’s Audio Return Channel.

It has to be something to do do with the new TV's then cuz the Samsung i have in our other room is 2 years old and i had zero issues plugging in the apple TV and using it. The TV that crapped out prior to this new one was just fine and had no issues when i first got the Apple TV. But now, i had to turn off the Atmos feature from inside the Apple TV and keep it to the Dolby Digital 5.1 so now when i turn on the TV, it will go silent, throw up the error that the device is use is the eARC thing and need to use HDMI 3 for it, and then finally the sound comes on. it took about 3 hours of playing around with it to finally get the settings just right.

Is there a way to turn off the eARC option on the apple tv? I dont get it. Like i said, must be the new TV's trying to push the external speakers maybe and i have not done a factory reset of the Apple TV.

I do not have that option It just says Default audio output and shows TV speaker, then the Temorary Audio Output shows Select. And if i choose something it only gives me the option to hook up to the one Home pod i have, but that is in another room. I do not get any option at all for it to say eARC or anything. I hit SELECT and it just gives me a list of audio option. TV Speaker, home pod and then the other Apple TV's in the house.
