AppleTV no longer uses the sound from Pioneer AVR SC-LX801. TV is Sony Bravia.

when I turned on Apple TV, the Sony would automatically switch to the correct HDMI input and I could get sound from the AVR by switching to TV from CBL-SAT.

Then something happened, and I can only get sound from the TV speakers and not my home audio speakers.

I have tried changing settings on the Sony TV and Apple TV.

one first question, was there an update from Apple TV? All devices say software is up to date

Apple TV 4K (2nd generation)

Not very recently. tvOS 17.5.1 came out 3 weeks ago. I don’t think it likely to be about a software update on Apple TV.

I have tried changing settings on the Sony TV and Apple TV.

Please detail your settings.

Please detail how your setup equipment is connected to each other.

Do you have CEC turned on on all HDMI devices? For Apple TV: Settings﹥Remotes and Devices﹥Control TVs and Receivers﹥On. For the TV: See its manual (Bravia Link). For the receiver: See its manual. For some audio systems, it may be ‘On’ passively all the time without setting.
