Lasted update disorganized my photos on my iPad

That sounds cool! And it's still there:

in the Library view, up from the initial Photos view.

You can also use "Recent Days"

that is originally below Albums (but you can move it to where you want.)

If you want pictures in February, you can search on February:

If you want January 21

Thankfully, we can now turn those things off! We use Customize & Reorder at the very bottom of the Main Window:

And get this menu

where we can uncheck the things we don't want to look at, and we can move up the thing we need more often. It's really a major improvement for those of us who don't want to look at Memories or Trips!

I'm not really finding that to be the case. And the iPad, with its ever-so-useful sidebar, seems pretty much the same as before-- except for that initial screen.

Is there something in particular that you'd like?

I liked the way my photos used to be organised, with folders for special categories and the rest organized by date and favourites. I do NOT want Apple to tell me what I should choose to look at, I do not want Apple to decide my “Memories”, nor which photos I should keep from my “Trips”, nor which photos to include in “Featured Photos” nor wall paper suggestions, etc. I am capable of making my own choices without being managed from afar. How can I reverse this?

Cool! I'm must playing around with it. Some things seem to make as much or more sense than before; some are more sketchy…
