AirPods Pro 2 Mic Issue on Voice Messages

Dear all,

I’m experiencing a problem with the microphone on my AirPods Pro 2 when recording voice messages on iMessage or using Apple’s Voice Recorder app. The audio quality is very poor, and it sounds muffled, like the mic is covered or under a pillow. However, when I make phone calls using the same AirPods in the same position, the sound quality is perfectly fine, and people can hear me clearly.

I initially thought this might be an issue with my AirPods, so I replaced them today, but the problem persists. I’ve tried restarting my phone, resetting the phone settings, disconnecting and factory resetting the AirPods, but nothing has worked so far. Also I have tried the mic L or R or automatic modes of the AriPods

I’m using an iPhone 14 with the latest iOS 18.1.1, and both the iPhone and AirPods are fully up to date. Has anyone else encountered this issue or knows how to fix it?
