Caps lock changes languages on touchscreen keyboard

I just got a 10th gen iPad and I have it set up with two keyboards: English (US) and Japanese (Romaji). When I use the touchscreen keyboard, the caps lock key functions as a "change languages" button that functions identically to the globe button in the bottom left. I used to have a 9th gen iPad and it did not have this behavior. It's annoying and I'd like to turn it off, but I can't find anything in the keyboard settings.

If you search for this problem you'll find tons of people talking about the same thing with a hardware keyboard, and I know there is a specific setting for hardware keyboards to enable/disable this. However, I am having the problem with the touchscreen keyboard instead and there is no such setting. Anyone know what's going on here?
