basically i want to reset the passcode on my iphone (not connected to my apple ID) and eventually factory reset it, but it says that the phone is unavailable with no timer whatsoever or a forgot password option, just simply says 'iPhone Unavailable' in the middle of the darkened screen.

Please pay more attention and read further in the support documents.
You need to use the instructions that Kurtosis12 provided to you to use a computer to reset the passcode if there is no "timer" or "forgot password" option displayed.
You have the documentation that you need to proceed.
well that link won't help me because there IS no forgot password option, as i had mentioned before. please read the problem carefully before replying.
The answer is gave is the only way you can unlock your phone.
It may not be the answer you want but it is the correct answer.
