iPhone 16 Pro springboard reset- restart IOS 18.1-18.1.1

iPhone 16 pro random springboard restarts, where screen freezes, then goes black, and in the middle I see a progress- loading wheel for about 1-2 seconds until my iPhone turns on again (do not see Apple logo)

Before anybody asks yes I have erased all content and settings on my device and set my device up as new without transferring any apps or data, no luck, as well as waiting for IOS 18.1.1 to be released and then downloading it with once again no luck, also I want to clear up that my diagnostics seem to pass every time indicating that there should be NO hardware issues with my device, anyways I am currently running logs that the engineering team has to read here in a few days capturing the issue so hopefully here in a few days I should get the finalized hardware vs software issue (even though the diagnostics should have given me the definite answer) if anybody knows more about this issue or seems to have a fix, or knows whether this would be a software or a hardware issue please let me know, simply if you’re also going through this annoying issue please let me know, I don’t know what upvoting means so either tap the me too and or comment.

It’s a known problem in 18.1, as reported by Apple in the update notes for 18.1; should be fixed in 18.2. As 18.1.1 was only a security update it was not fixed there.

Congratulations on recognizing it as a springboard crash; few users know the difference between that and a iOS panic.

BTW, maybe you want to update the model that appears in your profile, which still shows as an XS Max.

thanks for your response, anyways how do you know that this would more then likely be a software issue and not a hardware issue though? like I said currently doing diagnostics, and logs with Apple that they should be reading for me still soon, they seem oblivious about this issue and seem to think that this is more of a possible hardware issue rather then software issue, obviously don’t know for sure till I get more information on it but like I said my diagnostics MRI scan of my device passes everytime so therefore it should be indicating that the hardware on my device is perfectly fine, anyways I thought that this was something that was alr fixed in iOS 18.1 though bc it was happening in IOS 18.0.1 and people were complaining about it and replacing their devices cause they thought that it was more of a hardware problem, obviously it sounds like a couple of people are still going through it but seemingly IOS 18.1 did seem to allegedly “fix” this issue for some people and not others which I don’t know why they said that they would “fix” an issue where IPhones crash if it was only a partial fix.
