Why are all my emojis blond? I can change the skin tone but not the hair colour? I tried to make my girlfriend but all I can do is make different tones of skin with blond hair. A dark black face with bright yellow hair looks a bit odd as an emoji (obviously some people will have that style and thatβs not what Iβm referring to so please, no white knighting)

Send your requests to the Unicode Consortium. All emojis are managed by this third party so they are the same across all device manufacturers. If each company had their own emojis, then it would be possible to send a thumbs up emoji from your device and it would appear as a thumbs down emoji on a device from a different manufacturer. All device manufacturers do is simply include the latest emoji standard that is available.
