Occasionally when I get a text message, there's very loud static coming thru my hearing aids. I updated my software and restarted my Opticon app. I still get occasional static. Any suggestions???

Unfortunately this is a common issue with some brands/models of hearing aids. When text messages come in and are received by the iPhone, there is some EMI and/or RFI (Electromagnetic Interference, Radio Frequency Interference) that is received and emitted. The shielding of the hear aids is supposed to reject the interference.
Please contact the support team for your hearing aids and see if they have any suggestions.
Are the hearing aids self contained or is the an additional controller or device involved? Are you near any other Bluetooth devices that are paired to your iPhone?
I have this same static problem and it only started with the iOS 18 upgrade. Sure seems like an Apple induced issue.
The hearing aids are self contained...battery type.. And, no, I'm not near other blue tooth devices. By coincidence, I just got an email and my phone is 2 feet away from me & I just got that static noise..
