recommended printer to use with the imac 24-inch, 2023, M3 chip

Since we have no idea what requirements this printer needs to meet, other than it works with your iMac, it would be hard to make any recommendations.

For example:

• Do you have a budget limit?
• Do you want a printer, based on ink-jet, ink-well, or laser technology?
• Do you have a brand preference?
• How will this printer be connected on your local network: directly to the Mac, by Ethernet to a Ethernet switch or router, or by Wi-Fi?

Whatever printer you get, make sure that it supports AirPrint. AirPrint builds a certain amount of Mac support into the printer itself, so that you can print without installing drivers. Printer manufacturers seem to have a bad habit of not updating drivers for new versions of macOS, so AirPrint compatibility could let you hang onto a working printer for a longer time.

Things to think about when selecting a printer.

• Types of printing; ie photos, paperwork sent via e-mail or off the web
• Color or Black and White
• Amount of printing you do
• How often you print and the volume; daily, a couple of pages a month, etc....
• Inkjet or Laser
• Multi function; (do you occasionally need a scanner and/or copier?

There are probably other things to think about too. Your original question is kind of like asking a realtor you just met, "What house should I buy?" The realtor has no idea of the neighborhood you are interested in, house size, do you want a pool or room for a pool, do you cook much, prices you qualify for etc...

So if you give us some hints then we can help steer you a bit better.
