Having trouble connecting my AppleTV to Wifi

I bought a new TV and upgraded my Apple TV to go along with it. Up to that point, my old AppleTV was connecting just fine. Once I installed TV and AppleTV, I moved my old TV and AppleTV out to the guest house/office. It is linked to the main house WiFi through a mesh system. My work computer connects no problem, but when I tried to connect the AppleTV to the WiFi it said “unable to join.” I’ve tried restarting the AppkeTV, unpluggging and then lugging in the mesh router, I’ve even reset the AppleTV back to factory settings. Nothing has worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is it the old model that isn’t connecting anymore? Which model is that exactly?

  1. Try the steps as mentioned in: If your Apple TV can't connect to Wi-Fi - Apple Support
  2. Try the ‘Other…’ option instead of selecting a listed discovered network. Especially if the password has been changed since it last connected to that.
  3. For Apple TV HD (4th generation) or earlier, verify that the Wi-Fi router or access point or mesh isn’t set to use WPA3, as only device models from ~2018 or later support that. Instead use ‘WPA2/WPA3 Transitional’. Some users report that they had to set ‘WPA2’-only first.
