Apple TV 4K fails to connect to Wi-Fi 6 5 GHz network

I have an Asus Zen wifi AX XT8 router. I have set up separate 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. The AppleTV has no problems to connect to the 2,4 GHz network. When I select the 5 GHz network, which is on the list of available networks, the AppleTV directly states "Failed to connect to network" without asking for the password.

I have several iPhones and Ipads and a Mac which don't have any problems to connect to the 5 GHz network.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Apple advises to combine the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (and 6 GHz) bands into one logical network (with the exact same SSID name and password), so that devices can connect how they prefer for the best possible connectivity.

Could it be that the 5 GHz option has been used previously with a different password? Then Apple TV may remember that and fail to connect automatically with the previous password. To overcome that, you may select the ‘Other network’ option, then manually enter both the network name and correct password.
