Update 18.1.1 changed app icon colors in dark mode

The latest update caused dark mode to cause the white and invisible areas of icons to turn black. It makes it difficult to recognize or read the apps. Not good.

You can change those if you wish. The Home Screens are now customizable.

  • Tap and hold on any open area of the Home Screen to make the apps jiggle
  • Tap Edit in the upper left
  • Tap Customize
  • You now see controls on the bottom of the screen to adjust background color, Icon Size and Icon Style. Simply choose the Light Style and your icons should appear like what you are expecting. When set to Automatic they will respect the Light/Dark mode setting for your display.
