Unable to Check for Update Checking for a software update failed because you are not connected to the internet.
When trying to connect my Apple Watch Series 4 I keep getting stuck at update and I’m unable to update it with the latest IOS 18. I did hard reset. Tried tuning it off and back on. Nothing will get it to update. Please assist

Has the watch been paired to the iPhone before?

The Apple Watch 4 can only be updated to watchOS 10.6.1
Thank you for the fast reply. So I found out that the Apple Watches series 4 is not compatible for updates with iPhone 16 plus pro IOS 18 is this correct?
I updated an iPhone 13 to iOS 18.1.1, and the Apple Watch 5, watchOS 10, was still paired after that. However, some users did not manage to pair watchOS 10 to an already to iOS 18 upgraded iPhone.
