Finder folder does not show Desktop folder. However when I search for a document stored in desktop folder, folder does appear with contents. Trying to get the file and contents back into finder menu. MacBook Air with Sonoma `14.6.1 installed. Thank you for your help.

Is Desktop checked in Finder> Preferences> Sidebar? You must have it checked there in order to see your desktop in the side bar

Thank you Nick for your reply. Desktop is noted on Sidebar. I also spoke with Apple support yesterday and they dialed into my MacBook to try and help with no success. I will keep trying.....
